Since its inception in the 1970s, the park has changed hands three (3) times. Previously known as Centre de plein air Les Forestiers and Base de plein air des Cèdres, the park, created in the 1970s, was successively owned by the Vaudreuil-Soulanges Regional School Board, before being led by a non-profit organization, then transferred to the Municipality of Les Cèdres in 1999 and finally acquired by Ville de Saint-Lazare in May of 2014. The park was officially annexed to the territory of Saint-Lazare in April 2016 after the Minister of Municipal Affairs and Land Occupancy, Mr. Pierre Moreau, approved the annexation by-law on December 10, 2015.
