FESTIVITIES
Northern Challenge
My choice for an active winter lifestyle!
Sunday, January 26, 2020, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Parc nature (2800 Chemin Lotbinière)
Free! Registration required as of January 6, 2020
(Limited number of participants)
Registration: www.ville.saint-lazare.qc.ca/en/enligne – sports and leisure section
The Town of Saint-Lazare wishes to foster its citizens’ awareness of the importance of a physically active lifestyle—both summer and winter.
Just for the fun of playing outdoors, learning cross country skiing and snowshoeing:
• Activities are not timed and non-competitive.
• Free! Circuit will take about 90 minutes
• Free rental for participants (limited time) or bring your own equipment
• Door prizes and free snacks
A family challenge that combines pleasure, trials and discoveries
Young and old, with or without experience, are invited to discover the pleasures of the nature park, snowshoeing and cross-country skiing while taking up the challenges at our 4 activity stations! Hold on, this is not a race but an activity that allows you to practice (or discover) your talents on cross-country skis and snowshoes, to discover the wonderful site of the park, while taking on challenges and running the chance to win prizes (punching your participation card at each station). Each snowshoe and cross-country ski circuit varies between 60 and 90 minutes depending on the level of agility of the participants. Hot broth and healthy snacks on the menu, as well as tube sliding, obstacle courses and skating for those who will have finished the challenges in record time! All free for those who register for the challenge!
Several departures, limited rental equipment
Several departures are scheduled for this Northern Challenge, the first at 10 a.m., the last at 1 p.m. Allow time to park, retrieve your identification tag, rent any required equipment if required, before starting the challenges. Given the limited number of snowshoes and cross-country skis, the City encourages you to bring your equipment. Please note that any loan of equipment will be for a limited period of time to allow all those who do not have equipment to participate.
Non-residents, not registered
Note that non-residents who wish to access the site without registering for the challenge will be able to do so at the ongoing daily access fee. They will be able to encourage participants and enjoy activities such as tube sliding, skating and hosting.
Registration free but required
Since this is the first edition of the activity and organizers wish to ensure adequate resources for participants, the Town invites those who are interested in taking part to register now, either online at http://ville.saint-lazare.qc.ca/en/definordique or by phone at 450-424-8000, extension 220 prior to 4 p.m. on Thursday, January 24, 2020. It’s easy to challenge yourself, and it’s even more enjoyable when you can do it in a fun and festive atmosphere! Join us on Sunday, January 26, 2020!
