Participate for your chance to have your piece selected as one of the five winning works of art Prize is $500 for the buying of the art

SAINT-LAZARE (Québec), on Tuesday, May 2^nd 2017. –  The organizing committee of the Saint-Lazare Au Galop Festival is actively seeking artists/painters and sculptors for an art creation weekend to be held on July 8 and 9, 2017. Artists will set up alongside the Saint-Lazare community garden to produce an equestrian-themed work of art while festivalgoers look on.

The completed works will then be included as part of an exhibition that will be on display at the library from Tuesday, July 11 to Thursday, August 3.  A panel of regional artists will select the five winning works of art. The Town of Saint-Lazare will purchase these pieces at a cost of $500 each during the Festival’s evening closing event. These purchases fall under the Town of Saint-Lazare’s policy regarding the acquisition of works of art. The selected works will be permanently on display at the new Town Hall.

The number of artists selected for the event is limited. The organizing committee will prioritize artists from Saint-Lazare.
