The nature park is not fully accessible.
The land is mainly composed of sand.
Access roads are provided to allow people with reduced mobility to access the swimming pool and some buildings.
In addition, adapted equipment is available free of charge for visitors of the nature park Les Forestiers-de-Saint-Lazare, but some of them must be booked in advance.

Wild animals and flora
It is forbidden to:
- Hunt, slaughter, injure, capture, tame or feed wildlife
- Pick plants, mushrooms and fruits – it interferes with their slow growth and reproduction and depletes the wildlife’s “food pantry”
- Disrupt and trample tiny communities of organisms established along the trails and off the trails
- Force animals to flee
- Act in a manner that harms and alters their environment and habits
- Be respectful of wildlife at all times
Dogs

- Are only allowed in the parking lot and trails
- Must be kept on leash at all times, even in trails, for the following reasons:
- Those are the rules!
- Frighten horses and can cause riders to fall/ get hurt

- They trample tiny communities of off-trail organisms
- Must not be left alone in a vehicle or on site
- The owners must pick up their feces and dispose of them responsibly in the bins provided for this purpose on the site (there are no bins in the trails); no one likes walking in the feces!

Trail use rules and code of conduct
The overview provided below does not exempt visitors from all prohibitions specified in the By-Law concerning municipal parks www.ville.saint-lazare.qc.ca/doc/reglements/pdf/637.pdf.
It is forbidden to:
- To smoke, vape, regardless of the substance
- To make fires
- To consume alcoholic beverages
- To possess:
- Glass containers
- Pyrotechnic items
- Any type of firearms, machetes, spears, bayonets and the like, weapons and hunting equipment
- To hunt
- To loiter around the site
- Break bottles or glass maliciously
- Discard, deposit or leave paper, box, newspapers, packaging, bottle, garbage, waste or other objects in containers
- To ride:
- A bicycle
- A horse (By-law 637: Rides must be on a designated trail AND any person traveling on horseback must be a member of the Club équestre les Foresters Inc. They must be able to demonstrate this membership immediately to any person responsible for the application of this Regulation.
- An all-terrain vehicle, unless in a designated trail, are a member of an accredited organization or hold a Citizen’s Card
- Without the prior approval of the City:
- Affix signs, closets, posters or advertisements for any purpose

As of February 2021, the Town has suspended the analysis of all new filming requests in public areas, including the Parc nature les Forestiers-de-Saint-Lazare and La Pinière, for an indefinite period of time, while it adapts its policies and procedures to the new realities.

Les Forestiers-de-Saint-Lazare Nature Park is a nature park whose soil is mainly composed of sand. Dress accordingly.
During walks on the trails, to prevent any bites, especially those of ticks, Santé Québec recommends:
- Avoiding tall grass
- Using mosquito repellent on exposed parts of your body, avoiding the face. Follow mosquito repellent usage instructions
- Wear a hat, closed shoes, pants and long-sleeved clothing
- Fit your sweater into your pants
- Fit the bottom of your pants into your socks or boots
